A few messages come in; flights are proving a little tricky, there will be a delay – it could be a couple of days, it could be a week. Stand-by. It’s not simply a case of booking flights and going. The charity has limited funds and so there are a number of aspects to consider; other organisations to contact and gain support and from. Later I hear it’s a one-week delay. Ok gives me more time to make sure my workload is sorted, but the day passes slowly as I can’t help thinking about the deployment. That night I dive onto Amazon for a couple of bits; they’ll be here by morning (obvs).
