First up, wished our good school-friend happy birthday. She was born between Polly and I, always made it easy to remember, if that’s not too thoughtless of me. I decided that I can’t be bothered with my birthday any more; just another day.
The distribution hub was good today, lots of new volunteers too. It was a bright sunny day and so I did the induction outside; a bit like being back in primary school. Once inside they took to the jobs like ducks to water…I’m in no doubt that it is mainly due to their enthusiasm, but I would like to think that the hard work of the team takes a good slice of the credit too though.
We (they) zipped through the work, and so we (I) got a good chance to clear down on some OCD; That crate is a couple of boxes short of a full load. The ready use PPE needs to be in the same colour boxes. Why do we have a whiteboard for only 2 of the three lines? That table is not 2 metres away. Eventually I do stop.
So satisfying when complete though.
End of week one; 1,025 meals, 835 snack packs, 33 5-day home packs, 10,000 Easter eggs and 18,600 Hot X Buns.
Not bad considering this time last week, our distribution hub was an empty WW2 hangar…

Amazing. Just brilliant. Thank you. I am constantly humbled by the huge support we are being shown by the public. It is heartwarming and restore faith in human kindness and spirit. People I have never me have offered support be it delivering foid, PPE, a smile or a thank you. Just so lovely.
Thank you all.
Typos.🙄 sorry.
Polly is smiling down on you so very proud.
