I do the induction brief for all new volunteers and the thing I say at the end is always on the same theme, along the lines of;
“I’ve been here a week or so now and it has been truly fulfilling and very rewarding. I have had a great experience, I really hope you do.”
Because it is true.
I purposely did not plagiarise Her Majesty, too cheesy. But it is exactly right. And I am:
“I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge.”

This is brilliant Phil, you have really found your niche! My daughter (a paed nurse too) has been redeployed to work in adult ITU (very scarily for her) and i know how much she and all her colleagues are appreciating the food supplies that are coming in. Thank you Phil for all your volunteering and for writing this amazing blog 🙂
