Today was actually a day off, within the context of limited stocks of PPE, we did a double run yesterday so there are just a couple of folk in today to load up the delivery vans.
With the time I decided to come home and sleep in my own bed, watch some TV, do some chores, ‘log in’ to catch up on a bit of work too. I went to Sainsbury’s to buy food as there was none. When I got there I thought the car park was oddly empty and for a while I couldn’t work out why it was shut, the sign in the door said they were working reduced hours in light of Covid-19. It said 8-8 weekdays, no change to Sunday. It was only 3 o’clock. Why was it shut? I know the roads were quiet, but they always are these days. Then I twigged, it was Easter Sunday…
But most of all I had some ‘down time’ and time to think.
I have really enjoyed the week and found it important, meaningful work. The contrast to ‘logging on’ to my day job could not have been more stark. So much so that I have signed up for another task, I just need to work out how to fit the day job in as I can’t afford any more leave!
