holibobs 1: eventful but quiet

After 2 weeks of boredom and frustration I have been given the all clear to return to work – thank goodness.  This also means my little holiday planned for the following week is on.  So armed with my ‘covid positive’ and ‘recovered from covid, fit to travel’ certificates I get a cab to the border with Dominican Republic and then plan on a coach to the capital Santo Domingo. 

Unfortunately, there are bus issues (and not just the 7 stops for immigration checks) and so I get to Santo Domingo after the curfew time (of 9pm) which meant it was very quiet on the streets and no bars open!
