holibobs 2: more eventful but even more quiet

I’d made it to the first objective and then had a nice day and a half walking around the Colonial part of Santo Domingo.  My plan that (Sunday) afternoon was to get the overnight ferry to Puerto Rico for a few days.  But that did not go well.  They refused to let me onboard as I did not have a covid negative certificate.  They would not accept my “covid positive but now recovered and safe to travel” certificate.  Frustrated doesn’t cover it – I mean I was going to America, the home of CDC where they set the rules!

And this was a particular blow as on Saturday and Sunday the curfew was 6pm!  So I had another quiet night but did manage to get a couple of bottles of beer from a lovely old couple who ran a souvenir shop near to where I stayed.
